Terms of Service
Last updated: July 2026
1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of The PR Assistant, a software platform operated by The PR Assistant Pty. Ltd. ("The PR Assistant," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you're using the service on behalf of an organization, you're agreeing on that organization's behalf and confirming you have the authority to do so.
2. What the service is
The PR Assistant is an AI-powered workspace for public relations work: drafting, research, strategy, and campaign tracking tools built around client profiles you set up. It uses third-party AI models (currently Anthropic's Claude) to generate drafts, summaries, research, and other content based on what you and your client profiles provide.
3. Accounts
You need an account to use the service, created and authenticated through our identity provider (Clerk). You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account.
If you create or join an organization account, everyone in that organization shares the same clients, chat history, and billing. The organization's admin is responsible for who they invite and what access those members have.
4. Free trial, subscriptions, and billing
New accounts get a free trial period (currently 7 days) with no card required to start. After the trial, continued use requires an active paid subscription. Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly, unless stated otherwise) through our payment processor, Stripe. We don't store your full card details ourselves, Stripe handles that directly.
Each plan includes a monthly cap on AI requests and a maximum number of clients, as described on our pricing page at the time you subscribe. You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and we don't provide refunds for partial periods except where required by law.
5. AI-generated content, review it before you use it
This is the most important section of these Terms for how you actually use the product. The service uses AI to draft pitches, releases, strategies, research summaries, and other content. AI output can be factually wrong, outdated, or simply not what you meant, even when it sounds confident.
You are solely responsible for reviewing, fact-checking, and editing any AI-generated content before you send it to a journalist, publish it, submit it on a client's behalf, or rely on it for a business decision. Never treat an AI-generated deliverable as final without a human reviewing it first. The PR Assistant is not responsible for consequences arising from AI-generated content that was sent, published, or acted on without that review.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the service to:
- Generate or distribute false, defamatory, or deliberately misleading content about a real person, company, or event
- Violate any law, or infringe anyone else's rights
- Attempt to access another account, client, or organization's data without authorization
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract the underlying models or system prompts powering the service
- Overload, disrupt, or attempt to circumvent usage limits on the service
7. Your content
You retain ownership of the client information, drafts, and other content you put into the service, and of the deliverables it generates for you. You grant us a limited license to store and process that content solely to provide and improve the service to you, including sending relevant portions of it to our AI provider to generate a response to your request. We don't use your client content to train AI models, ours or anyone else's, and we don't sell it.
8. Third-party services
The service relies on third-party providers to function: Anthropic for AI processing, Stripe for payments, Clerk for authentication, and Neon/Vercel for hosting and data storage. Your use of the service is also subject to those providers processing data as described in our . We aren't responsible for outages or issues originating from these third-party providers, though we'll do what we reasonably can to minimize disruption to you.
9. Our intellectual property
The platform itself, including its design, tools, workflows, and underlying software, is owned by The PR Assistant Pty. Ltd. and protected by intellectual property law. These Terms don't grant you any rights to our branding, source code, or platform beyond what's needed to use the service as intended.
10. Termination
You can stop using the service and cancel your subscription at any time from your account. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms, including for abusive use, non-payment, or activity that puts the service or other users at risk. If your account is terminated for cause, you're not entitled to a refund for the remainder of your billing period.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that AI-generated content will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular use, see Section 5.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, The PR Assistant Pty. Ltd. is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including damages from AI-generated content that was published, sent, or relied on without review. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll make a reasonable effort to notify you (such as by email or an in-app notice) before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the service will be handled in the courts of Australia, unless local law requires otherwise.
